UNCOMMON SENSE
The Story
A reflection on teenage life, “Uncommon Sense” follows three intersecting stories that deal with the lives of teenagers in present-day Madison, Wisconsin. Adrian and Evelyn observe those around them with despair; Calvin attempts to take three girls to a party; Jennifer and Haley get into a fight over a valuable piece of jewelry. An unexpected tragedy ties these characters’ experiences together.

Fiorella Fernandez (Evelyn)
Fiorella is a prolific young actress in the Madison area. Her performance as Millie in Madison Country Day School’s 2011 production of “Thoroughly Modern Millie” earned her a Tommy award for Best Leading Performer. She can be seen as Sandy Dumbrowski in Verona Area Community Theatre’s spring 2012 production of “Grease.”
Rubén Bolívar (Adrian)
Rubén is a student at James Madison Memorial High School, and a regular actor in the school’s theatre productions. He played Cliff Bradshaw in 2011’s production of “Cabaret” and can be seen as the Beast in Memorial’s upcoming production of “Beauty and the Beast.”
Emma Geer (Jennifer)
Emma attends Madison West High School, where she has an active role in theatre. In addition to acting on stage, Emma is also involved in television.
Lilly McNicholas (Haley)
Lilly attends Madison West High School, where she participates in theatre.
Forrest Rainford (Calvin)
Forrest goes to James Madison Memorial High School. He is a member of numerous local bands.
Marlene Jones (Lily)
Marlene is a student at James Madison Memorial High School, where she acts in theatre productions, sings with the choir, and competes on the Forensics team. She played Rona Lisa Peretti in Memorial’s spring 2011 production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” and can be seen as Babette in Memorial’s upcoming production of “Beauty and the Beast.”
Amy Strang (Kayla)
A student at James Madison Memorial High School, Amy enjoys singing in the school’s choir and performing in the school musicals. She played a Kit Kat Klub girl in Memorial’s winter 2011 production of “Cabaret,” and she can be seen as a Silly Girl in Memorial’s upcoming production of “Beauty and the Beast.”
Atzie Sobotik (Carly)
Atzie attends James Madison Memorial High School, where she sings in the school’s choir and performs in musicals. In Memorial’s spring 2011 production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” she played the role of Marcy Park; she can be seen as a Silly Girl in Memorial’s upcoming production of “Beauty and the Beast.”
